The fishing and hunting base is located in the eastern part of the island. Kildin (69.19.19 N, 34.20.36 E) in the north of the Kola Peninsula in the Barents Sea, 80 meters from the sea coast and 400 meters from Lake Mogilnoye. Due to its location, Kildin Island is a unique place for fishing, hunting, diving, extreme and ecotourism. The coastal areas of the Barents Sea in the area of the island are recognized by local fishermen as the most favorable for sea fishing. The nearest settlement is the village of Teriberka – 20 nautical miles, the city of Severomorsk – 35 miles.
Sea fishing in the immediate vicinity of the island is an opportunity to catch record trophy specimens of cod, haddock, pollock, flounder, catfish, sea bass and burbot, halibut. In the spring-summer period, large schools of capelin and herring approach the island, which attracts all predators of the Barents Sea and such deep-sea fish species as cod, halibut, perch, catfish are caught from a depth of 15-20 meters. In autumn, the sand lance spawns off the coast of the island, spawning of which attracts no less number of predatory fish and marine mammals: whales, dolphins, killer whales, seals, seals, belugas.
Not far from the island are the rivers Zarubikha, Tipanovka, Klimkovka, where there is a great opportunity to enjoy fishing for the noble Atlantic salmon – salmon, sea trout, Arctic char, pink salmon. In the nearby lakes and streams, you can fish for lake trout, char and trout. Ice fishing on the lakes is possible in spring.
In the autumn, with registered permits, you can engage in amateur fishing for Kamchatka crab. This is no less exciting activity than sea fishing. Record specimens of the caught crabs – up to 15 kg. But halibut has always been and remains the rarest, and therefore the most desired trophy.
For hunters – trophies: goose-goose, ducks, partridges, waders, hares. foxes, brown bears. In recent years, the number of brown bears has significantly increased on the Kola coast, therefore it is not recommended to go to the tundra without experienced guides.
On the territory of the base there is a four-apartment brick house with stove heating, three auxiliary buildings. In Mogilnaya Bay there are three anchor barrels for small vessels, an equipped parking lot for motor boats, in the eastern part of the Kildinsky Strait there are two anchor barrels for large vessels. There are motor boats at the base for the delivery of fishermen (hunters) to the place of fishing (hunting).
Accommodations:
The base can accommodate up to 11 people at a time. Accommodation in one- and two-room apartments for 4 – 7 people. Sleeping places: one- bunk beds, bed linen, towel. Each apartment has a gas stove and a set of dishes. At the base, full-value meals are provided (the menu is based on fish, seafood, game). The premises of the base are electrified (diesel generator). On the territory of the island, there is mainly stable mobile communications (operator – Megafon). The house has satellite Internet (operator KiteNet) Attention: the base is not yet equipped with VIP-rooms and apartments.
The base is open all year round, but we accept fishermen and hunters from the beginning of April to the end of September.
