On February 6, International Sami Day is celebrated in Russia and the countries of Scandinavia. On this day, according to tradition, in the cities and villages of the Murmansk region, exhibitions are opening, festive concerts, thematic lessons in educational institutions, evening parties and other events are held. Members of the Loparskaya Sami indigenous minority community will conduct an excursion with the opportunity to feed, pet and take a photo with deer, rabbits and a friendly husky. Deers are adapted to the arrival of visitors, boldly make contact, willingly take food from the hands of guests, are not afraid of camera flashes. Guests of the festival will be treated to a traditional Sámi soup, venison dishes and fragrant tea under the canopy of the Sámi national home – Kuwaks, an exhibition and sale of products by craftsmen.
