Dalniye Zelentsy is a unique place, isolated from civilization and left to the mercy of the wild nature. The settlement was founded in 1935 as the Murmansk biological station. In 50’s the biological station functioned as a full-fledged scientific organization and in 1958 it was reorganized into the Murmansk Marine Biological Institute. In 1989 the Institute was transferred to Murmansk and in the Dalniye Zelentsy remains the base for experimental work. Currently, the village is almost empty and it represents the victory of the primordial forces of nature over trying to reach the edge of the world, civilization.

We have prepared for you a day trip to the shore of the Arctic ocean. Here, on the edge of the earth, you are entitled to feel the harsh beauty of the North. Believe me, these dark and, at the same time, its stunning primeval landscapes you will remember for a very long time.

The coast near the village is deeply indented with bays, coves, fjords, not far from the coast are a small rocky archipelago of Islands. The relief around the village is a flat surface, broken by deep cracks. Tundra vegetation with an abundance of herbs, modest wild flowers, water-soaked mosses, dwarf shrubs dominates the surrounding landscape. Trees are more common in the creeks and valleys where they can hide from the ice “breathing” of the Arctic. Weather during the day changed several times.

• The price includes transportation and guide service on the route, meeting at airport (railway station).
• From Murmansk to the village is approximately 168 km, estimated travel time – 4 hours.
• In the Dalniye Zelentsy there are no shops and public transport, the trip is only possible on the SUV.
• On request of a group of tourists, the program can be expanded and adapted in accordance with the wishes.
• For additional fee it is possible to make an individual sea-tour with fishing or diving.
