On May 7, 1975, on Chelyuskintsev Street, a monument was opened in honor of the military cooperation of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition during the Second World War. The authors of the monument are architects A. Ganin and V. Andreev from the Murmanskgrazhdanproekt Institute. The monument is created in the form of a hand holding the globe in an open palm. Dark red granite was chosen to create the monument. It was installed in a small public garden near the House of Culture of Sailors (Chelyuskintsev St., 3/1). The ceremony was attended by representatives of Australia, USA, UK, Canada, Norway. On a slab of black stone, installed on the podium, a dedication in Russian and English is carved: “In memory of the joint struggle of the countries of the anti-Hitler coalition against fascism in World War II.”
