Программа праздника обширная и доступная для всех желающих. На стадионе будут установлены национальные жилища саамов – куваксы, под пологом которых разместится красочная ярмарка мастеров декоративно-прикладного искусства коренных народов Севера, и палатки с горячим питанием, пройдут выступления фольклорных коллективов.
Каждый сможет попробовать свои силы на лыжной трассе, почувствовать себя оленеводом или ловким охотником, накидывая аркан на хорей или стреляя из арбалета. Участникам предложат посоревноваться в силе и сноровке, вступив в бой с соперником по национальной борьбе. И, конечно же, поболеть за профессиональных оленеводов, соревнующихся в гонках на оленьих упряжках.
Мероприятие проводится с целью сохранения и развития национальных культур народов Севера, популяризации зимних национальных видов спорта, привлечения людей к регулярным занятиям физической культурой и спортом, а также творческой инициативны населения района.
Организаторами мероприятия выступает Администрация Ловозерского района Мурманской области, МБУК «Ловозерский районный национальный культурный центр».
